Tonight, and through the month of December, see The Best of 2010 at Spokane's Tinman Gallery. My pastels will be there, along with the fine works of multiple Northwest artists.
The reception is tonight 5-9PM.
The color in this is pretty fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on having your work featured at this gallery, Casey! I enjoyed browsing through their website, and hopefully the extra exposure will get more of your work into collector's homes :).
ReplyDeleteAnd kudos to that gallery for featuring and supporting several local artists; I wish more galleries would do this.
Hi Casey, Congratulations and the color is rich and exciting!
ReplyDeleteThe red and blue in this piece have such a wonderful 'punch' amplified with the oranges and the referenced green. What a great composition! And great color... of course, what would one expect from The Colorist.
ReplyDeleteKudos on the gallery representation.
-Don
I love this painting! Congratulations on the show!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Peggy and Dan.
ReplyDeleteDon - thanks very much. I try to say, "I'm not 'the colorist,' that's the name of my blog." But, at this point, that distinction fails to fly. I do work in the colorist tradition, so I'll take the compliment.
This image is from memory, of a draw west of my house with a lot of wild rose bushes.
I like that top edge, where the darks meet the sky.
ReplyDeleteI find truth in the green sprouting in the draw.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the show! Stunning painting!
ReplyDeleteWish I could be there!! Your pastel is fabulous. The energy and texture of your markmaking is also reflected in your dynamic palette choice. Wow!
ReplyDeleteDiane, Loriann and Kathy - thank you. Your encouragement is well received.
ReplyDeleteYour colours are beautiful with a lot of life.
ReplyDeleteCiao Graziano
Always wonderful to hear from Italy. Thanks you, Graziano - I read your blog, too!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and good luck with your show. It's a fun time of year and hopefully you had a big turn out. I love the energy in your pastels.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Robin!
ReplyDeleteThis has been one of my favorites since you first posted it. Let us know how the show went. I bet you knocked some socks off!
ReplyDeleteWish I could see them.
ReplyDeleteAnd you know this one is one of my all-time faves.
Hey, you Boulder artists. Thanks for commenting, Jala and Sam.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how the opening went - I was present for the past two but not this one.
To be honest, I am more focused on the studio and what I'm creating right now.
The composition really makes this colour exciting! Wonderful work!
ReplyDeleteHi, Sophie. Thanks for looking at this post!
