This past month of daily posting has been fun and rewarding. Thanks to everyone who has read faithfully. I'm not done, yet, but at the end of the week I'll be exhibiting at the Spokane ArtFest and the posts will be less than daily. I will give you my report, though, and stay with me for the next few days, please.  I will be posting more fresh works, which will all be exhibited in Spokane June 3-5, 2011.

    I like the way you painted these Casey. The land masses are knit together with no piece more important than another. I agree - great color harmony! Enjoy the ArtFest! I appreciated your post on Memorial Day; gone but not forgotten.

    I was fascinated to see the one veteran of the Mexican-American and the Civil Wars, because he lived this far west after those very early wars.

    And, the pioneer infants with the small headstones.

    Pioneering was tough living, and we enjoy their labors. What do we do to grow our community is a good question to ask oneself.

    Good luck with ArtFest, I hope the weather is your friend. I love the horizontal dimensions of these 2 pieces. How will you frame and display them?

    I haven't decided on these frames, yet, Robin. In spite of what I wrote, all of the images posted aren't framed yet. I have 16 new works in frames now, and others will be for my next show.

    Good to see you making colorist art that doesn't try & look like the mediterrean :-)
    They are good 'epxositions' of some of yr writings & thought s about art. Bravo for the consistancy!

    Thank you, Jala. These are a little different, and not just the formats.

    I appreciate the detailed comments, Adam. That is very funny about the Med - I never thought of that. My one trip to Italy never really gave me enough to qualify "the light" there, but I did notice differences. My ouvre is much about northwest light - very gray and diffuse.

    Anyway, I am thankful for your comment on consistency, since I felt out on a limb with these two works.
