So now I know where our snow went! The Western Slope has feet already, but we've had nothing but two dry flakes. Thanks for the beautiful pictures anyway. Now send some!
Oh wow - you got quite a bit! And the sky has that classic winter stormy sky look to it - brr! The 6" we got here a few days ago is quickly melting away, and it was nice enough for me to go running on the trails.
Do you ski or snowshoe, Casey? That's the thing that makes winter bearable for me, because I have a hard time being cooped up inside :).
Sam - still laughing @ that word. Sonya, I do both. Today I went out on skis and met the plow. We've been snowed in a few times already, and have more snow now than in these 2 day old pics.
You win the snow contest, Casey. We only had a few inches and they melted off by the 26th. Now we're back to rain, rain, go away!
I love how snow covers everything with egalitarian style so that asphalt and grass, wood piles and trash heaps all have the same chance to be beautiful and white.
Do the schools close with this much snow on the ground? Snowball fight!!
word verif: oatudi superior and snooty attitude practice by people who regularly eat oatmeal for breakfast!
Jeanette - I'd thought you'd be the snow capital. Maybe you have more marine influence than us inlanders. Where I grew up on the coast, we almost never had snow.
Kvan - I win!! Hot dog. Except we're having a slow thaw with ice and the like. Still completely white, though. Today we had no school due to new snow, a tiny thaw and blowing drifts.
Loriann, I think you'll have plenty in Maryland, too. Cheers!
oh my....and we on the east coast (of FL) were thrilled that last night we needed a sweater with our blue jeans to eat outside! That left us jazzed and energized...thanks for the pics, plan to paint snow today?
Cindy - you Floridians usually worry about some other thing. Funny, though, one of my chums from there is kidding me @ how good his weather is.
I'm painting coastal river scenes now. Also, I am sidetracked with charcoal, pastel and chalk drawings. The light in the studio is too bright, and I must keep the blinds at half mast. It screws up the colors and values tremendously.
Great shots, Casey. Thanks for the shiver...

On the way, one shiver for Don in Nevada!

Gosh you did get a dump didn't you? We had some yesterday but it was all gone again by morning and quite mild now.
ReplyDeleteIt does make for wonderful photos.

Ooooooooooooooo... snoooooooooooow!
ReplyDeleteI like the quiet that comes with snow--and the crunch.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good time to have a studio.
wv: crustr, what you call a person crunching through the snow. I am envious of artho, though.
Ha ha, Kathy. They must have some of this in Maine & New York, too.
ReplyDeleteMaybe next time it'll be artho crustr, Jean.
Hi Casey,
ReplyDeleteSnow looks great, but I guess it's better on vacations.
We're having between 10ºC and 19ºC here in Lisbon. How about that ?
Best regards and a Merry Christmas,
José
Hi, Jose. It's a way of life for me, now, although I grew up on the coast where we seldom had snow.
