Really great quotes Casey. I enjoyed reading them. I have never been one for intellectualization when it comes to art. I like to keep it simple and personal. I love those red violets in this piece.
ReplyDeleteOh yay, oh yay... Casey quotes!
ReplyDeleteHear ye, hear ye... Groucho wins!
And in the world according to Sam,
"Fauvist Forest" is, was and will always be hard to top.
hmmmmmm, I'm loving the blue, splish splash and quotable.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually a silent reader, but love these quotes and this image. I especially love the Schopenhauer quote and the Fauvist Forest...
ReplyDeletethat is an outstanding painting...such mystery!
ReplyDeleteThoughtful quotes. Wonderful art. Great post. Henri and André would be proud of you for keeping their movement alive. Watch out for the wild beasts in the fauvist forest. Happy Halloweeny. Thanks, Johnnny
ReplyDeleteI like your Fauvist woods. Calm and somber. My woods are Pollack, de Kooning--energetic, lively, somber too but the brilliant light in the clearing on the other side shines through the barricade of branches. It is interesting to compare viewpoints. You have an idea. You start a painting. And then the painting takes over and dictates what's next and reveals what your viewpoint really is. Carlin was the best.
ReplyDeleteThanks kindly to everyone commenting and reading. I will reserve comment for now, since I am still letting out the sap from the hole I bored.
ReplyDeleteI love that you quote George Dyson! He's a friend here in Bellingham.
ReplyDeleteThat is cool. Lisa. I always Google the names of quoted individuals I don't know about, and in this case I watched some of a Dyson lecture - but I didn't know he was a local.
ReplyDeletehaha...."sap"...I'm letting mine run out too.
