Prairie Series

Here begins the Prairie Series. The ideas will be like the Rivers, but with some significant changes. What are those changes? I'll let you know first, once I figure them out.

Today I have some time to actually straighten and clean my studio a bit. After a week and a half of daily work, the dust is beginning to reach my ankles. How many artworks did I finish? Maybe 8 or 9, but I'll have to wait for this man who comes in with an axe and destroys several of them before I can tell you the actual number.

    I am so excited about yet another elemental series from you, Casey! The River Series changed how I look at pastels and color and looking and learning. I think that's a lot, so nuff said. Except, I can't wait for more of these!

    I am tempted. because I grew up on the Prairie, to follow your lead and do my version which I have carried in my head and heart so many years. Once again you have inspired me.

    I just finished a post on analysing tonal values, actually using a photograph. I then clicked into your new post. Spooky! Your violet tree matches just what i was thinking about. Dark against light and creating something just slightly menacing.

    I really like the colours you have used and the atmosphere created.

    Wow, wow, wow! That electrically alive blue, and the different directionalities/energy of the strokes--you can do no wrong in pastel, methinks.
