Jaunty Lake Garda

Lake Garda Alley
@4" x 3.75"
Pastel
Casey Klahn

This sketch was done from a photo I took at Lake Garda, Italy about two years ago. Sort of a jaunty mood, and my wife favors it a lot. So, I gave it to her.

Now that I'm into plein-air work, I'd like to go back.

This is really fresh looking. I hope to achieve that kind of spontaneity when I try my hand at plein air. great little painting

Thanks, Rhonda. Those good illustrators at the Famous Artist's School taught me to deliver quick, continuous lines. Draw fast!

Also, the yellow seems fresh, doesn't it?

If you want to see excellence in delivering the figure in an outdoor setting, folks, treat yourself by following the link to Rhonda's blog.

Casey, I always love the way you can use a photo reference for a painting and it has the spontaneity of a plein air sketch. Your wife has great taste.
