The Evening Light (Bald Ridge)

The Evening Light  (Bald Ridge)
7.2" x 11.2"
Pastel & Charcoal

This image is from a view that I see out of the north window of my studio, quite a ways in the distance and to the side.  It is a butte that is 3 or 4 miles away.  I have done it, re-done it and done it again.  Perhaps I have it, now.

There is some trouble with my new blog project, but my enthusiasm is growing even with these speed bumps.  I can't wait to reveal it to you.

Good composition on this and I think you've caught the feeling of those rocks.

Yes, a beauty of a butte. You could say, visionary.

Waiting patiently to see the new project.

Casey, this is a marvellous little painting. The light is glowing in this piece and I could imagine how it looks like in reality when then sun puts her spell on a landscape...
Btw - I like your new boulders series very much!

Composition is great on this painting. You somehow get the colors to dance. Brilliant.

Eden, Thanks very much!
Loriann, Thank you, too. I think my latest thing is layers of color - which you know well.
Thanks, Lisa. Another eastern Wash. image.
Hey, Sam. I gave the secret away to Jala today. I hope it's gonna work.
Glennora, I appreciate the DL very, very much. Glad to hear your comment.
Petra, I appreciate it. Working on more rocks, soon.
Dan, I'm glad the composition works - I certainly worked it many times and it is good to see it work out.
Thank you very kindly, Sara!

Wonderful palette! Now I'm very curious about your blog project.
A real cliff-hanger.

Hey, Kathy! I started with a Maine comment, got one in the middle, and now yours. This blog is the Maine hotline, today - one of the things about art blogging I love so much.

Clue on my project: it won't be the first time it has ever been done, but it will be original in its own way.

Thank you for the kind comment, too.

Very nice. Have missed visiting your blog, too much going on, especially computer woes. Sent your book--thanks! The vivid pinks here are great. There's a similar formation a couple of miles from here that this is reminding me of.

Great to see you, Jala. Hope your pc gets better.

These trees on the top of Bald Ridge have troubled me for so long, I just decided to wipe out a painting and start with a different set of problems!
