I'm lucky to post once a month and even then without coffee I might not post that frequently however I read them all Casey.
Love this painting!
Nice to see daily posts from you on my Dashboard blogroll, Casey.
That reminds me to have another cup of coffee, John. I am happy that you read here.
Thank you, Sonya! It doesn't hurt to make a go at daily posts once a year, - I did last spring, and it was a challenge to have good content, but I felt good about what I posted.
Just, just beautiful! Love the juxtaposition of the textured sky with the foreground.
Casey, I may have asked you this before…. so forgive me if I have as I have a mind like a sieve these days…What type of panels are you using?...and do you use ANY fixative at all between layers or on top?
Thanks very much, Maggie. My surface in this is La Carte, which is re-used via washing old pastel with Turpenoid. That is how the sky texture came about.
I spray between layers, and not on the final. Don't tell my framer!
You can't wash La Carte without loosing your grip... grit. Can you?
Yes! Daily posts from Casey to look forward to! I just noticed that the colors in this painting look very similar to those in the Degas painting you posted in your Study Hall; a soothing combination.
Hi, Sam. The Sennie won't take water (try a drop on there sometime to see what happens). But, Turpenoid is okay. Find a pastel=clogged piece, and run a wash of Turpenoid over it with a brush. It's fun.
That is funny, Donna. I hadn't noticed that today. The other day I had a nice combo going with the header and an image.
Casey,
I loved this work and your commitment for the daily post.:) (sometime I wanted to write 'done'in front of my new year,s resolution of daily work.:))
Thank you, Debu!
hooray, something to look forward to every day!
I'll be watching for you, Celeste. Thanks for reading/commenting.
