Yeah. The NYPD, NYFD and PA (and other first responders, National Guard and active military) are the heroes of 9-11. Funny how they are the every-man, and yet they are actually very special men and women.
Father Judge. Todd Beamer (civilian). Rick Rescoria. Extraordinary individuals.
So moving. I am going to repeat what I posted as a suggestion to an artist who is going to paint about 9-1-1, and asked "What does FAITH, HOPE, & LOVE mean to you in the context of remembering 9/11?" I wrote: The essence of faith, hope, and love, was shown through the compassion, strength, determination and selfless dedication of the firemen and volunteers in the face of the tragedy that was 911. The quintessential American spirit has never shown more brightly with the message that America will be alive and be strong despite adversity. The US will not be brought down by hostile zealots. Its citizens will be always be there for one another. These are the images that resonate for me.

I am so touched by this. When he spoke of the badge the tears came. One of many that will be shed this week-end.
Me too, Linda.
Touching tribute. Sad, yet drips with love.
