Some of the rewards of exhibiting are unexpected and very dear.
Here is one of the notes I received on Facebook, today:
Hi Casey, my friend and I just got back from the Sausalito show. We agreed that your work was some of the most beautiful/interesting/professional work there. I'm so glad I got to see these stunning pastels in person, thanks so much!

I like 'Orchard Illumination'. It has shine and dullness, a closed and open space. Very nice.
Glad your art exhibition went so well. Happy news in difficult times for Art.

A lovely comment and they were very correct. Your work is always amazing. This piece is stunning. I've been staring at it for the last five minutes.
It's not surprising you receive such compliments. They seem well-desrved to me, but I know how good it is to get them.
I know that comparisons can sometimes be unhelpful, but looking at this fine painting, I wondered if you'd seen the work of Brian Rutenberg? If not, his website is worth looking at.
Both the rewards and the complement are very true. Your work is so strong and has an original perspective. It feels free (not stuffy) and active/moving. I've been following your blog for some time and have been quite enjoying it/feeling inspired by it.
This painting gave me a rush! Wow! I LOVE your use of colour and form.
Much appreciated, readers and kind commentators. It was a great show, and I will be on the road for a couple of days, now.
This must be such a giant splash of color in person, at that size.
I love your pastels. Your work is getting me to rethink banging my head against the wall with acrylics.
Oh, this is gorgeous! I agree with earlier commenters, the interplay of color and line here is really delightful.
Fabulous Casey. Love it. I am so consistently uplifted by your work. Coming to your blog is a most pleasing experience, every single time.
I'm very happy for the response, kind readers. I will say more later. I am travelling home (almost 100 degree heat on the road today - whew).
A deserving comment! Hope to see your work in person someday also!
Kasey, beautifully done. I immediately recalled Wolf Kahn's work with color.
A much deserved compliment. Your work is unique and beautiful. Congrats on the Sausalito!
Kendra, Loriann and Mary - thanks!
