Sketch Box & Bag

Sketch Box & Bag
Graphite in Moleskine
Casey Klahn

There is much on the horizon for me, but little time for posting. Next month I'll celebrate the 1 year anniversary of The Colorist, and will probably take advantage of this event to reflect on art blogging, and on the state of "colorist art" as a contemporary style. Also, I will be posting soon about a gallery opening in Western Washington, and an interview in an online magazine.

Nice sketch - it has a lot of depth!

Thanks, Meg. I was a little dim on it, but I cropped it and spun it and posted it anyway.

Hard getting back into sketching - especially in the "precious" Moleskine.

I had hoped to eventually get over the concept of 'precious' Moleskine. But if even you have the problem, Casey what hope is there for me?! It's obvious you know what you are doing with that pencil - look at those lovely ellipses of the coffee cup. Nice cigar box too. I'd like one of those.

You'd like one of those? Cigars, you mean? That would be a nice idea. I think I'll light up a stogie tonight with a glass of Scotch.

Practice those ellipses, everyone. Critical stuff.
