Post Modernist Post-Mortem

Source: Wikipedia.

Prospect Magazine has published the post-mortem on Postmodernism. Author Edward Docx reports on the Victoria & Albert Museum's upcoming exhibition,  Postmodernism: Style and Subversion 1970–1990.

"Gradually we hear more and more affirmation for those who can render expertly, the sculptor who can sculpt, the ceramist, the jeweller (sic), even the novelist who can actually write." Edward Docx.

Read the article at Prospect to understand the ineffable movement just a little bit more.  And, start wondering what to do next.

Casey, I always enjoy your thought-provoking blog. Yes, I've been at the threshold of what to do next for longer than I care to remember, and now old enough to admit it.

Martha, you are always going, but never arriving.

Celeste, you must have a big house!

This was the most fascinating article about art that I have read in a long time. Thank you.

A very thought-provoking article. Thanks for posting. At least I understand now how I am able to hold so many contradictory ideas in my head without it collapsing in on itself.

As to what to do next, that's *always* the problem, isn't it?

Post-Modernism is DEAD! LONG LIVE Post-Post-Modernism! ... Here we go again. You just gotta love this kind of ArtThink/ArtSpeak.

Hee hee. Love it or hate it, you can't erase that Postmodernism happened.

It is my sense that we painters have been painting along without caring, really. I think Postmderne is so dead it's got a smell...but maybe that was part of the deal, too.
