Pastels are the premier way to get color down on paper with boldness and intensity. This drawing medium acts like anything you want it to – even like a painting medium if you so desire. Artist Casey Klahn will demonstrate his pastel technique, and field your questions during this two hour event.
This is a great FREE pre-view to Casey Klahn’s Pastel Workshops:Beginning Pastel on Wednesday Oct. 19th, and Intermediate Pastel on Thursday Oct. 20th, 2011.

Sounds like fun, Casey! If I lived in the area, I'd sure make a point to stop by. I'm sure you'll get lots of attendees.
Thanks for commenting, Sonya!
"You tube" for us unlucky east coasters!
I wish I were that tech savvy. Maybe there will be a staff member or other kind soul there who can help with a video using my iPhone.
Casey, wishing I could be there to see your technique and method. But alas, I am out of the area and headed to another workshop in the wine country! Have a great time! b
We want video! We want video!
But if you were that tech savvy, you'd have less time to paint. Hmmm... maybe not such a good trade-off. Anyway, have fun doing what you love!
Thanks, Sam and Brenda! There were @ 10 attendees, and it went very well. I did Italian buildings, and intended to do 9x12 (I looked at what Brenda does!) and yet the room was small and I worked smaller. Two building scenes were brought forward and 1 landscape was begun to the sketch-in.
I wound up lecturing a lot. No vid - sorry! I didn't even remember to get a picture!!
I wish I could attend one of your pastel workshops (wrong coast), I am always amazed at what you do, your style, and color combos.
Some day I'll teach on the east coast, Robin.
