I missed this yesterday. Very nice sketch Casey. I do like drawings that have a bit of an unfinished quality to them. I think they are more alive than works that have been finished down to the last detail. Have a good workshop. I'm starting to get a bit apprehensive about the one I signed up for in August. I'm such an amateur when it comes to oils; I don't think I know the medium well enough to jump ahead to gestural portraiture. I must have been daffy the day I sent the check.
A word to L.W.-- Casey did a Denver workshop in May. Because I had to go help my mom move to assisted-living, I had to miss meeting and learning with Casey. If she weren't my mother, I'd never forgive her. You are so lucky to be doing the workshop; don't hesitate for an instant. I'm sure that check will be some of the best money you've ever spent. Have fun!
P.S. Sweet painting, Casey! Btw, the iPhone app called Camera+ will reliably produce great and sharp pics. It has a stablizer. Shoots as good as an SLR. No, Apple doesn't pay me; they can't afford me. Heh heh.

I think being uncomfortable (a bit) at a workshop is necessary for growth. Challenge provides learning.
It sounds like it is right up your alley, too. I hope you'll enjoy it.

Just for accuracy, Linda is taking an oil ws - not my own one.
I am going to shop that app asap, since I trust your judgement on these things (among many others).
