New Picture

Casey Klahn

Messing around in Photoshop one day, I created this over a photo of myself. At first, I just filed it under: "whatever", but when I saw it yesterday I did like it.

It may or may not "read" better than the B&W of me at the easel that I used before. The full-faced images that Corrine Bayraktaroglu (Jafabrit), Nicole Caulfield and Maggie Stiefvater use are the best ones for really showing the artist's likeness. Why do I feel the need to have a "funny" looking image for my profile and comment icon?

Because you have a good sense of humor! I like this one - and am always impressed when someone can make something in photoshop!

That's just it! I can't succeed in much at Photoshop, so this one is a little exception.
Thanks.

Photoshop sure is good for playing with pure color!

Cool avatar. You look a bit intimidating. ;)

Oh, yeah, Meg. That's me, Mr. Intimidation! "Bwooo-ahhh-hawh, haw, harwrhah!"
Maybe it's the five-o'clock nose and ears. Or the gold colored eyeballs.
I actually wish it weren't a serious look, but maybe the irony is in the off-colors with that frowny look.

I always get a shock when I see my name on the web lol! I am so used to being just jafabrit in the blogging world. Thanks for the compliment :)

I can't quite get my head around this as it seems slightly out of character! Whatever, it shows a different side of you that perhaps we haven't seen before! Enigmatic?

And what a name, girl! I am just glad I passed the spelling-it-right part.
I don't know about enigma, but my humor can be as dry as a bone.
Thanks for the comments, everyone. Looks like I'll keep this avatar for a while.

There's just a little bit of Vincent in there as well. I got quite a surprise when I saw it. I didn't even know one could do this in Photoshop, with the pastel paper effect and all.

Let's see, I did it long ago. I think I used a filter called "pencil", and then I went in and "free-handed" the colors with some kind of drawing or brush tool.

Just as well I don't use my WHOLE name as my sig on my artwork, would take up half the bloody painting ;)
